She became one of the most photographed people in the 2010 World Cup because it was alleged that Spain lost to Switzerland because Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas was distracted with her presence. Carbonero and her crew were allegedly standing less than 60 feet from the goal which Casillas protected.

The claims were never proven but Carbonero ended up interviewing Casillas after the game and the two later ended up in marriage. Sara Carbonero has been a sports journalist since 2000. She started as a TV Presenter for Telecinco until she moved to Oporto in Portugal when Casillas transferred to Futebol Club de Oporto in 2015.

Lindsay Czarniak is a sportscaster for ESPN. She is the first woman to host the telecast of the Indy 500, doing so for ABC in 2013. She is also a co-host on ESPN’s Sportscenter.
